Theatrical presentation also helps stave off piracy because it makes it possible to see a single film you are interested in without having to subscribe to a streaming service you'd not ordinarily watch. There's a hassle factor involved in constantly subscribing and unsubscribing to various streaming services that can be minimized by seeing some movies in an actual theater.

Some interesting discussion here but (unsurprisingly) Ms Brenneman, in her role at NATO, made a compelling case for why the theaters are a great value and neglected treasure that spent all of the downtime in the pandemic improving their offerings and reinvesting in their product. I completely understand her position on the theaters having a supply problem but find her other points pretty much at odds with pieces written here and elsewhere (and podcasts by Sonny).

These are the pieces about the lack of care that theaters have for things like projection quality and the overall experience. I am not looking for combativeness but it would have been nice to hear some direct discussion on those issues that have been recently discussed on this site with someone who may have been equipped to discuss them. Ms Brenneman was doing her job as an advocate but that discussion would have been a bit more interesting than how many times she took her kids to Sing 2.
