Chapek reminds me of why 30 years ago in the Reign of Eisner I had the following statement written in capital letters with a Sharpie in my agency contract regarding my desires for what my agent should do for me: NO FUCKING DISNEY!!!!! EVER!!!!!!
And why so many WGA members had such a good time when the bulletin board system announced that if they called a phone number (that was the number of a good friend of mine, a very polite lady who would never say such things) they would hear something they liked. Her phone message politely told the caller she was unavailable and they should please leave their number, and then..... "And if this is one of you cksuckers from fucking Disney, I hope you die alone in the cold and the dark from a socially unacceptable disease, you mthrfckers." *Everybody* liked that. Or as another friend at the time once said, "I'll have no trouble writing a dystopian science fiction screenplay about life in a not-so benevolent dictatorship. I did a project at Disney."
The "Disneyfication" of America - the processes of stripping a real place or thing of its original character, and representing it in a sanitized format with references to anything negative or inconvenient removed, with the facts dumbed down with the intent of rendering the subject more pleasant and easily grasped - is one of the reasons why this country is so fucked.
Bad things happening to Disney is Good News for America.
It’s wild that Chapek finds a way to do the wrong thing every single time. I hope Iger isn’t getting comfortable in retirement. Actually, based on the tweets highlighted in Richard’s newsletter he doesn’t seem comfortable at all.
Good Lord! I remember when Disney was irreproachable. But since they are unraveling, and it portends ill for the rest of the industry, all I can think is, "Sure. Why not? The environment and the world are also unraveling. Why should entertainment be any different?"

"I defy you to explain this sentence..." made me spray g&t out my nose, so thanks, it's been awhile since I laughed like that
