I'm a big fan of both the original Fletch and John Hamm, but wow what an abysmal trailer. I don't think I've ever watched a trailer that made me want to see a movie less. Horribly flat acting, unfunny jokes - I literally thought it was a parody.
I saw Barbarian with a friend two nights ago at your suggestion. Went in blind. Absolutely wonderful time. That movie is comedic in just the right spots. It knows exactly what it wants to do. And, I am always up to watch Constantine. Done deal.
Confess, Fletch I think rather epitomizes where so much of modern cinematic comedy sits: it's still being made, but no one seems willing to actually advertise it. There's been some decently funny films the last few years, and Netflix has carved out a little niche as a Rom-Com maker, but we really aren't get very many real comedies anymore and I think we're all the worse for it. I love the big blockbusters, and I get theaters do too since they put butts in seats, but there's just something about going to see a pure popcorn flick that's light and fun you just don't get anymore.
Dang! I really wanted to see this in theaters but as of today it’s not playing anywhere within 26.9 miles of me (apparently last night was the end of the run at any Regal in range). Instead, I went ahead and bought it on iTunes so I can watch it this weekend. I do really miss these kinds of movies in movie theaters.

Constantine is a favorite of mine, I just re-watched it, and I'm stoked about sequel.
Barbarian went a bit sideways on me (the rape topic triggered my daughter), but I thought it was masterful.
